'Nonkels' is a flemish comedy series broadcasted on national television and online streaming.
I've been creating visuals for Vier for a few years now, but this one truly was something else.
This project was an ideal canvas for showcasing my entire skillset; intricate modeling and detailed texturing in Cinema4D and Redshift, alongside sculpting in ZBrush and refining textures in Substance Painter.

Extensive research went into transforming the characters into porcelain puppets, focusing on achieving the right facial expressions and hairstyles.
I started with custom 3d scans of the characters provided by Zen3D, which served as an excellent base for a complete overhaul into porcelain puppets through sculpting in ZBrush.
Attention to detail was key, mirroring the features of real puppetry. The creation of lifelike eyes and translating their clothing into a painterly style was a superfun exploration in itself.
In the end I added the crackle pattern for an extra layer of detail.
You will not spot any cracks on Kunstgrassen Willy's materials.
Willy only does premium quality.
And his probably won't crack.
